FSMA’S LOGO WINNER
We want to thank Sara Beatrice, the winner of the FSMA logo contest! Sara graduated with a BS in Visual Communications from the University of Delaware in 1997. She is currently a Senior Designer at Falcone Design, a small graphic design firm in Wakefield, Rhode Island. Her work ranges from small businesses and non-profits to Fortune 500 companies, and she is also a mom of two girls ages 5 and 3 (and loving every minute of it), so it’s safe to say she wears a lot of hats.
Sara has been a longtime friend of FSMA chair, Courtney Fox. Courtney and Sara were college roommates, so Sara was excited to help FMSA out by submitting a logo for our logo contest. Sara’s logo was chosen by the FSMA board in anonymity among all other logo submissions. After Sara’s logo was chosen, she told us, “While we (Courtney and I) were roommates, we never had a chance to combine our talents. Thankfully, this dream finally came true!”
Sara also told us a little bit about the inspiration behind her design: “Anytime I work on a design involving children I always gravitate towards a bright color palette. I wanted the logo to be fun but professional. The tagline “Deep Roots, New Branches” as well as client input led me to the tree and roots design. I thought it was important to add in the human element and I liked the idea of the child being part of the logo and symbolizing a nurturing environment where children can learn and grow.”
We could not be more appreciative of the FSMA logo Sara submitted and are confident it will inspire many FSMA students, parents and teachers for years to come.
Thanks, Sara!
