Competitive Middle School Soccer Team

Who can tryout? 6th, 7th and 8th grade boys and girls (FSMA will be playing in a boy’s league, however, girls are welcomed and encouraged to join the team).

*Please know that the designation of boys/girls teams is based on the league rules/DIAA guidelines. FSMA recognizes that not all students may not identify with one of these genders and will do our best to honor any requests.

When is the tryout? Tryouts will be on Thursday, 8/15 and Thursday, 8/22 at 4:00 p.m. at Talley Day Park (students are encouraged to attend both but only required to attend one). After tryouts, a competitive team will be selected by the coaches.

Practice: Practices will be held twice a week (Tuesday and Thursday) at Talley Day Park from 3:45 – 5:00 p.m. FSMA will provide transportation to practices that occur on school days but children must be picked up from this location. Practice will start on Tuesday, 9/3.

What do I need? In order to tryout, all students must have a completed DIAA physical form on file with the school nurse prior to August 15th. This year’s form is available for download through the website’s main menu or can be requested from our nurse’s office.

Cost: $60 Athletic Fee (financial assistance available upon request)/ Payment is not due until child makes the team.  This fee covers includes the cost of uniforms (shirts, shorts and socks) which the children keep.

Games: Games start after 9/15 and we will be playing approximately 8 – 10 games against other middle schools in New Castle County. Children are expected to attend all practices and games. Most games are after school and no weekend games are currently scheduled. The games are posted on www.websites4sports.com. FSMA provides transportation to all games but students will need to picked up from home and away games or arrange rides home.
