BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Since elementary school, Meghan has had a passion for education. Although she does not teach second grade, as she once thought she would, her career path has provided her with numerous opportunities to train, coach, and support.
Currently, Meghan is a Leadership Development Coach at CSC in the Digital Brand Services division where she focuses on global leader development, as well as creating, supporting and implementing strategic initiatives.
Prior to CSC, Meghan was the Director of Communication, Alumni Engagement and Development Support for Leadership Delaware, Inc. (LDI), a program she graduated from in 2015. Her career journey has also included roles in leadership, training, fulfillment, project management, and customer service.
Meghan has been fortunate enough to be surrounded by incredible mentors throughout her career and feels passionate about sharing her lessons learned through serving as a mentor to youth and young leaders in the Delaware community. In addition to serving as Board Chair at First State Montessori Academy, Meghan also sits on the Advisory Board of Make-A-Wish (Delaware), is a member of the CSC Gives Back Taskforce, and CSC’s Strategic Equity Alliance (SEA).
In addition, she owns, and is the lead photographer for, Meghan Newberry Photography. Photography is a passion which allows her to capture special memories for families and give back to the state in a unique way. She lives in North Wilmington with her husband, two young sons, and their sweet pup!
Loren is a Deputy Attorney General for the Delaware Department of Justice where she serves as General Counsel to Delaware’s Department of Labor. She also serves as the Assistant Unit Head for the Departments and Agencies Unit in the Civil Division, and the chair of the Department of Justice’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee. In addition to her position at the Department of Justice, Loren teaches Introduction to Law for Paralegals through University of Delaware’s Professional and Continuing Studies program.
Prior to joining the Department of Justice, Loren worked for the City of Wilmington Law Department and spent six years in private practice at two law firms in Wilmington.
Loren graduated cum laude with a Juris Doctorate from North Carolina Central University School of Law and received her Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Delaware. She is admitted to practice law in Delaware, New Jersey, and New York.
Although she is a native New Yorker, Loren has made Delaware her home. She currently serves in various leadership roles, including the Executive Board of the Multicultural Judges and Lawyers Section of the Delaware Bar Association, the Litigation Section of the Delaware State Bar Association, the Nominations Committee of the Delaware State Bar Association, and the Delaware Barristers Association. Loren is an active member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. and serves as a mentor with the Big Brothers and Big Brothers Sisters program.
As the first in her family to graduate from college, Kim is passionate about access to high quality education for all students. Kim was born and raised in Delaware and cares deeply about the Delaware community. She joined the FSMA board in 2021.
As the Program Manager Director for Rodel, Kim helps to implement projects that improve education quality and outcomes for students in Delaware and beyond. Prior to joining Rodel, she worked on making college possible for historically underrepresented groups through roles with TeenSHARP and the University of Pennsylvania admissions office.
Kim also serves on the advisory board for People to People Delaware. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University and a Master of Social Policy from the University of Pennsylvania. Kim lives in Middletown with her husband Juan, son Isaac, and two fur babies Kiko and Bullwinkle.
Sarah Nagle
Sarah Nagle lives in the Triangle neighborhood in the city of Wilmington with her husband, two small children, and yellow lab. She was born in Montreal, Canada, grew up in Virginia and moved to Delaware in 2000. Sarah is Vice President of Strategy & Planning for Christiana Care Health System and has nearly twenty years of experience in strategic planning and business development. She leads the market research and planning activities that support executive decision-making, advance Christiana Care’s mission and guide resource allocation.
Sarah holds a Master of Health Administration from the Medical College of Virginia campus of Virginia Commonwealth University of Richmond and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Randolph-Macon Woman’s College in Lynchburg, Virginia. She is a fellow with the American College of Healthcare Executives, a graduate of the Advisory Board’s fellowship program and completed the Leadership Delaware program in 2012.
Sarah is passionate about education and she has just completed a six year term on the board of the Charter School of Wilmington. She enjoys reading, cooking and traveling.
Anabelle O’Malley, an FSMA teacher representative on the board, lives in Wilmington and has a 19 year old son who is currently studying at the University of Delaware. Anabelle has been an educator for over 30 years. She received both her Master’s Degree and Bachelors in Education from the University of Delaware. Anabelle has taught preschool through third grade, including Multi-Age, Gifted and now Special Education. Her passion has always been Literacy Education and she served as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Delaware teaching reading courses to undergraduates. Presently, she works with K-3 children to support them with their reading, math and social/emotional skills. She has taken countless hours of professional development so that she can provide the most current research based practices for her students. But, most of all, she loves building relationships with the children and their families and sharing in their learning journey. She has been at FSMA since 2016 and truly feels that this is her home.
Anabelle has served in leadership positions in a variety of ways throughout her life, beginning in high school where she was on the Student Council, to her involvement with the Talleyville Jaycees and later serving on her son’s Boy Scout Executive Board as well as the Conrad School of Science’s PTO Board. She is excited to represent the FSMA faculty in her new role on the Board.
When she isn’t in the classroom, Anabelle loves spending time with her son, being at the beach, cooking, paper crafting, playing with beauty products, shopping and hitting the gym.
Matt Petrin was elected to the FSMA Board in Sep 2020. He is a CPA with over 26 years of experience in Financial Services, most recently as Controller and then as Head of Business Planning and Analysis at Mercury Financial. Matt lives in North Wilmington with his wife and two children who are currently enjoying a Montessori education at FSMA. In addition, Matt has been serving on the Citizens Budget Oversight Committee for the past year. He also serves on the Siegel JCC Board of Directors.
Matt is originally from Indiana but has been a happy Delaware resident since 1989. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Purdue University. In his spare time, he enjoys golf, basketball, chess, travel and playing with his children.
Becky Phillips
Becky began her career in Sales and Marketing after graduating from the University of Delaware’s, Alfred Lerner School of Business and Economics. She has since worked in publishing, hospitality and healthcare-related industries, focusing on client relations and management. Joining the Cancer Support Community of Delaware (CSCDE) Board of Directors in 2011, Becky served on the Executive Committee for 3 of her 5 years with the organization.
After starting a family in 2015, Becky furthered her passion in the non-profit sector by resigning from the board to serve as the Development Coordinator at CSCDE. Becky has been with the Nemours Hospital for Children since April 2017, working in Institutional Advancement. She enjoys representing the philanthropic arm of Nemours and looks to educate the community about Nemours, while making a positive impact on the lives of patients and families.
A Delaware native, Becky resides in the city of Wilmington with her husband and two children. When she is not fundraising for a great cause, she can be found teaching barre at Lovering Studio or walking to Rockford Park with her family, including her handsome chocolate lab, Pelle.
Michael Reilly
Mike Reilly is the father of three children who all benefited from the strong foundation provided by a Montessori education. By making available Montessori education to more students, particularly in the City of Wilmington, FSMA is an energizing, positive organization on which Mike is excited to serve as a director.
Mike lives in Wilmington and works in Philadelphia, where he is Vice President, Associate General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer of FMC Corporation. At FMC, he serves as the lead lawyer for FMC’s global Agricultural Solutions business. Outside of work, and in addition to FSMA, he is active in Philadelphia VIP, the area’s premier provider of pro bono legal services, for which he served as a director for many years. He has also served as a director of the Philadelphia Diversity Law Group, which is dedicated to increasing fostering diversity and inclusion for minority and women lawyers in Philadelphia. Mike is originally from New York, but has been happily resident in Delaware since 1992. He received his bachelors degree from Columbia University and his law degree from Harvard Law School. In his spare time, he enjoys singing in his church choir, cycling, hiking, and skiing.
Janine Salomone, Esq.
Janine was elected to the Board of Directors of First State Montessori Academy in 2017. Prior to her election as a director, Janine spent 19 years in private practice in Wilmington, DE, most recently as a partner at the law firm of Potter Anderson & Corroon, LLP and as an associate at Richards, Layton & Finger, P.A. prior thereto. Janine’s practice focuses on advising boards of directors and officers of Delaware corporations with respect to (i) their fiduciary duties under Delaware law, (ii) matters of corporate governance and (iii) corporate transactional structures.
Janine received her B.S. summa cum laude from The Pennsylvania State University in 1992, where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and the University Scholar’s Program, and her J.D. cum laude from The Dickinson School of Law in 1995, where she was a Senior Editor of The Dickinson Law Review and a member of the Woolsack Honor Society. Janine previously served as a member of (i) the Executive Committee of the Delaware State Bar Association and (ii) the Board of Directors of Serviam Media, Inc., a non-profit corporation formed for the purpose of creating educational programming and digital media designed to foster human understanding, multi-cultural appreciation and positive interaction in a variety of community settings. In addition to serving on the FSMA Board, Janine currently serves as President and as a member of the Board of Directors of Profundo Bono, Inc., a nonprofit corporation formed to present live theater productions for the cultural education and entertainment of the community, the proceeds of which are donated to other third party charitable organizations.
Janine also serves as an assistant teacher for the parish religious education program (PREP) at St. Mary of the Assumption in Hockessin and a coach and commissioner for the Piedmont Girls Softball League.
Sara Stabb
Sara Stabb, a teacher representative on the board is a mom to 3 amazing boys (who got that way in part because of their exposure to Montessori education starting at a very early age). Sara holds a Bachelor of Fine Art from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, with a concentration in Fiber Art. She began her post-college career as a stitcher and builder of puppets and sports mascot costumes before discovering her love of teaching. She has worked in Montessori education since 2003 and holds two Montessori credentials, allowing her to teach children from birth to elementary-school age. After working with children under the age of 3 for over a decade, Sara moved to elementary education and FSMA when it opened its doors in 2014. Sara worked in a 2/3 classroom at FSMA while finishing her Masters in Education, and then moved to a K/1 classroom. She has served on a re-accreditation committee for the American Montessori Society, and has worked as a field consultant for Montessori teachers in training, as well as hosted student teachers from the University of Delaware in her classroom.
Outside of school, Sara enjoys various creative endeavors such as cooking, sewing and other crafts. She loves attending performances such as concerts and her husband’s improv comedy shows. She also enjoys traveling and the care and keeping of monarch butterflies and their caterpillars.
Having joined the Board of First State Montessori Academy in 2021, Shannon Tumolo is the Global Readiness Leader for the Digital Brands Services division of CSC. A creative and motivated leader with a strong passion for people development, her focus is on the people side of change. Her responsibilities include global communications, training, and coaching in support of large-scale transformative initiatives.
Actively involved in the community, in addition to joining the FSMA board in 2021, Shannon also serves as a member of the Ronald McDonald House of Delaware development committee, and is a proud 2019 Leadership Delaware fellow. In her spare time, Shannon enjoys cooking, hosting, traveling, and may be found on the beaches of Delaware with her husband Dave and daughter Aubrey.
