- The Smarter Balanced test will assess children in grades 3-6 in the areas of English Language Arts and Mathematics. It is to be given in small chunks of time over multiple days. Scores will be reported to families over the summer.

FSMA Assessment Procedures
The use of assessment is an integral part of the teaching/learning/assessment cycle at FSMA. Teachers are continually assessing students to see what they are understanding in order to inform the next phase of instruction. Teachers use a mix of formative and summative assessments as well as observation to determine where a child is in each phase of their learning. The following list of formal assessments are those required by FSMA or the Delaware Department of education.
