Announcing FSMA’s Head of School!
We encourage everyone to welcome our new Head of School, Courtney Fox. We could not have asked for a more talented and committed leader to build a strong foundation of success for our new school. Courtney’s dedication and hard work have already established essential building blocks for FSMA, and her clear vision will continue to carry us towards a bright future.
Courtney is an accomplished educator and school leader. In 2008, she was named the Delaware Teacher of the Year. She has attained National Board Certification as an Early Childhood Generalist, is a National Consultant for the Northeast Foundation for Children, and trains teachers all over the country in Responsive Classroom. Soon she will complete her doctoral degree in Administrative Leadership.
Courtney’s work has commanded many awards: she has received a National Endowment for the Humanities Picturing America Award, NEA Teaching Excellence Award, Secretary of Education Merit Award, Character in Education Promising Practices Award, and Superstars in Education Award. As a teacher, she has incorporated many Montessori philosophies into her daily practice.
We are so grateful to finally be able to recognize Courtney as our Head of School. Her new role will be apparent in the coming weeks as we further establish a strong, committed staff for FSMA.
