New Programs!

This year we continue to expand the programs offered to students at FSMA. Our afterschool club options include many new outside experts as well as FSMA teachers who are providing opportunities for enrichment. Other new offerings this year include:

• FSMA has three U6 (Under 6) and three U8 (Under 8) co-ed soccer teams who have joined the YMCA’s fall league.
• We are now a member of the Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association and will be offering our first official sport – boys’ basketball this winter. (More information to come about tryouts, etc.) We plan to continually add sports over time and will seek new opportunities to join the Y league for additional sports this year.
• Electives – 6th and 7th graders have received there elective selections and these courses begin next week. Some of the offerings include STEM, Ceramics, Instrumental Workshop, Practical Life, Digital Photography, International Sports and Games, Acoustic Guitar, and more. We feel so fortunate to be able to offer such a variety of electives for our older students.
• Middle School has started! FSMA has started our Montessori Middle School Program and the positivity around 7th grade is abundant! The children are settling into their routines, learning how to organize their binders, and getting to know each other. Their days are filled with academic lessons and lots of thinking, collaborating, experimenting, and much, much more!
