Fall into Fun at FSMA with the PTO!

The FSMA PTO would like to welcome you to our first Blog Post of the 2018-19 School Year!…and, to all of our FSMA families, new and old, we wish a wonderful, fun FALL to you ALL! Just a reminder, that at FSMA, we are all members of the PTO as there is no membership fee or sign-up needed :). The year has started off quite busy out of the gate! We had our first general meeting on September 6th and were so happy to see many families new and old interested in helping FSMA in so many ways. Our next meeting is a FSMA Branches Meeting: information and idea-sharing with the PTO, School and Board of Directors, all in one night! and will be held on Thursday, October 25, 2018. We hope to see you there, as the 5-year Celebration will be kicked-off by the Board of Directors, and the PTO will give updates on the many events and fundraisers already being executed to help support our mission of Montessori Professional Development for our staff, that will in turn touch each of our students. Please put this date on your calendar, come on out, and we will look forward to seeing you in person.

In the meantime, our first on-site event, the FSMA FALL BOOK FAIR, held in the Farm Room on the 3rd Floor of Building 1000, starts with Family Shopping on Watch Me Work Day, Wednesday, October 24th and continues with shopping days for all classrooms through Monday, October 29th, with shopping ending at 1:30 and break-down occurring from 1:30-3pm. This event will benefit both the FSMA PTO and the FSMA Library! The fan favorite FSMA BOOK FAIR is here! ALL Volunteers welcome and needed for this much anticipated event…please be sure your volunteer registration forms have cleared by checking with the FSMA main office and visit the sign-up genius now:

Come during your child’s shopping time or whenever you can. Your help is appreciated!

But that is not all, so much has been happening on behalf of FSMA, including:

—Oasis Family Fun Night was held Monday, October 15th . A great time was had by all and over $2k was raised. We are awaiting word from Oasis on the final dollars from the snack bar and credit card sales and will report the exact totals once we have them.

—Coupon Books are currently being sold. This is our one “sell something” fundraiser of the year. The books are $25 per book and we receive ½ the profit!! Out of state books are also available and make great gifts! A new APP makes this an on the go money saver! Money, orders or unwanted books are requested to be returned by Friday, October 26. (if you forget, feel free to bring them with you at conferences please.)

—Box Tops: our Fall Box Top submission is due November 1. (our goal is $1k per year,so with all you have sent in we are well on our way!! Keep sending them in for our spring submission coming March 1, 2018. Thank you!
