FSMA teachers will be offering summer enrichment programs for our students. These

programs are designed to give children more experience with our curriculum topics, to

help them continue interactions with schoolmates over the summer, and to provide

exciting learning opportunities for our students.

  • All sessions will be led by FSMA teachers
  • Sessions will run Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
  • Parents must provide transportation
  • Cost $100
  • Camps will be filled on a first come/first served basis

Session 1: July 16 – 19

Volleyball

(for girls entering 5th–8th grade)

Join 4/5/6 grade teacher, Jen, for Volleyball training camp. FSMA will have their own Girls’ Volleyball team this fall! Girls will learn all the skills needed to try out for our fall team. Beginners welcome!
Gift Making Craft Camp

(for children entering 4th-8th grade)

Join 4/5/6 grade teacher, Julie, and enjoy making crafts that you can give to friends and family! Some examples include picture frames, candles, etc.
Capoeira Camp

(for children entering 1st–5th grade)

Join Chris Devany, one of our visiting artists from last school year, for Capoeira. Capoeira is a Brazilian martial art that combines elements of dance, acrobatics, and music. This high-energy club will not only be great exercise, but full of learning about another culture!
Drama Camp

(for children entering 1st–4th grade)

Join DramaKids for a week full of drama-related activities. DramaKids is an international program that is coming to FSMA this fall. In this afterschool drama education program children will be given opportunities that focus on building self-esteem, speech patterns and creative thinking in each child. Students will learn about theatrical skills in fun ways with a focus on the art rather than on memorization of lines.
Knitting Camp

(for children entering 4th – 8th grade)

Join knitting expert, Lisa Cleveland for knitting club. All ability levels are welcome and all children will be shown new techniques as they build their knitting repertoire. Children will work on a few projects, including a toy! Plus, learning to knit is a great skill for children to have as it develops concentration, problem-solving and perseverance.
Recorder Camp

(for children entering 3rd – 6th grade)

Join our music teacher, Sheila, for Recorder Camp. Students in our 2/3 classes have started their study of recorders in music class and have done an excellent job. This camp will take that to a whole new level. Students will have the opportunity to play more songs in solo, learn how to play in an ensemble (where students have separate parts to play that sound great together), as well as learn to write their own songs for recorder or recorder ensemble. This camp is also open to older students so that they can dust off their old recorders and bring them back to life with new music.

Crochet Camp
(for children entering 4th – 8th grade)Join Lisa Cleveland at Crochet Camp and learn this fun craft while making some fun projects. Crochet is great for strengthening math skills like adding and multiplying, plus it’s relaxing and super creative! We’ll use yarn to create a few projects including a toy. No experience needed and all materials included.

Yoga Camp with Petite Yogi
(for children entering 3rd-8th grade)
Camp will be filled with yoga games, mindful activities, and sequences to increase self-awareness and compassion. We’ll tap into collaboration skills and trust with group and partner activities, ending each morning with a relaxing guided visualization.
Gaming Club
(for children entering 1st-4th grade)
Join 2nd/3rd grade teacher, Jill in this board game extravaganza camp. Practice the many skills needed for playing board games (taking turns, winning gracefully, losing kindly, etc.) and learn strategies for specific games. Plus, you will get to try out a variety of different games and maybe find some new favorites.
Scrapbooking
(for children entering 3rd – 5th grade)
Join 4/5/6 grade teacher, Kara, and create your own scrapbook! Bring your photos and we will provide the supplies.

Instrumental Music Camp
(for children entering 6th-8th grade)
Join This camp is open to beginners as well as students that have played their instrument in Instrumental Workshop this year. New students can use this camp as a way to jump start their study of in instrument for the 2018-19 school year. Returning students can use it as a way brush up on their playing skills to keep ready for next school year. Instruments available for study include Flute, clarinet, trumpet, saxophone, trombone, percussion.
