FSMA teachers will be offering summer enrichment programs for our students. These programs are designed to give children more experience with our curriculum topics, to help them continue interactions with schoolmates over the summer, and to provide exciting learning opportunities for our students.

  • All sessions will be led by FSMA teachers
  • Sessions will run Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
  • Parents must provide transportation
  • Cost $120
  • Camps will be filled on a first come/first served basis

Session 1:  July 15th – July 18th

Knitting & Crochet Camp
(for children entering 1st – 5th grade)
Join Lisa Cleveland of Homespun for Everyone will lead this students as they explore these two crafts with a variety of projects.  We’ll begin with finger knitting before choosing an individual project to make with needles. Camp will end with learning to crochet a small toy.  Students will learn to read patterns and use math to help them along the way!
Introduction to Ceramics (week 1 of 2)
(for children entering 2nd – 6th grade)
Join Shivaun to learn the basic skills of working with low fire clay.  Students will create 2 types of containers – pinch pots and coil pots.  In this first week, students will create the work and allow it to dry so that it can be bisque fired and ready for the second week.

 

Session 2:  July 29th – August 1st

Introduction to Ceramics (week 2 of 2)
(for children entering 2nd – 6th grade)
 In week 2, students will glaze their ceramic work and design a ceramic tile.  All work will be fired and returned as soon as possible…possibly on the last day of class.

*Students may not attend this session if they did not attend Week 1.

Board Games
(for children entering 2nd – 4th grade)
Join Jill for a week of strategy, sportsmanship and fun!  Play your favorite board games and learn how to play some new ones in this camp designed to help children practice the many skills associated with game playing – fair play, taking turns, communication, problem-solving, winning and losing gracefully, teamwork and more!
